Trike-A-Thon at Our Savior Christian Academy in Platte City

On Thursday and Friday, Platte Valley Bank participated in the Annual Trike-a-Thon at Our Savior Christian Academy in Platte City, MO. The Trike-a-Thon is an opportunity for Academy students to learn about spending, saving, and donating money by visiting tables with several local businesses.  The tables stations were a general store, gas station, car wash, bank, insurance, post office, Burger King, YMCA, church, ice cream, and hospital. They take the change they gathered from home and visit each table to trade money for goods like snacks, toys, bike repair, or put it in the bank for safe keeping. At the end of the event, all the local business take the change they received and give it back to the school. The school then takes the money and donates it to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

At the end of the event, the teachers gathered all the students to thank the local businesses for participating. Local business that attended included Platte Valley Bank, Top Dog, Dairy Queen, YMCA, State Farm, and Burger King.
