Identity Theft Training at Smithville Chamber Meeting

Last Wednesday at 11:30am, Platte Valley Bank sponsored a luncheon for the Smithville Chamber meeting in Smithville, MO. Platte Valley Bank gave a presentation on identity theft mentioning the valuable financial and secure benefits to help safeguard you and your family.

It was also explained how both our Secure Checking Account and out Advantage Checking Account, feature IDProtectTM.

“Identity Theft" refers to crimes in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person's personal data, and your financial identity in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain. Criminals also use Identity Theft to fraudulently obtain identification cards, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, social security numbers, travel visas, and other official government papers. Federal Trade Commission indicates that on average, most victims do not even know their identity has been stolen until more than a year later.
