Smithville Montessori Students Support "Bank Day Lady"

For the past 4 years, Personal Banker Liz Olsen has been the Bank Day Representative for the Smithville Montessori Academy II.  (Bank Day is a special program where Platte Valley Bank representatives visit various schools, twice a month, and accept deposits for Dollar Bill Kids Club Savings Accounts.)  Liz enjoyed going to see the kids and they loved having her visit.  In October 2015, Liz was diagnosed with a very rare, incurable form of stomach cancer.  The children were saddened to hear about Liz.  They wanted to do something to help her and her family.  An email was sent home to parents and for the entire month of December, the children raised money.  All together they raised over $1500.

Liz said she was overwhelmed with emotions when she heard they had raised over $1500.  “These kiddos are very special and dear to my heart – each and every little on of them.  I miss their little faces, I miss their hugs and hearing stories about their new haircuts, new outfits, new shoes or hearing about a new pet.  I loved being their “Bank Day Lady”.  When I get better, I would be honored to be their “Bank Day Lady” again.”
