Today, Platte Valley Bank employees wore red in honor of the American Heart Association’s National Go Red for Women Day. Employees who donated money, were able to wear red shirts and jeans. Customers donated money as well.
During February, American Heart Month, the color red symbolizes the fight against heart disease in women. According to the American Heart Association, “One in three women dies of heart disease or stroke every year. Education and lifestyle changes, however, can prevent 80 percent of cardiac events.”
