Park Hill’s Lakeview Middle School Community Speaker

The Lakeview Parent Teacher Organization coordinates a once a month program where they ask parents and people who work in the community to speak to seventh and eighth graders on various careers. The goal is to expose the students to a variety of opportunities.  On October 7^th, Mrs. Hopkins, Senior Vice President and Branch Manager at our Parkville branch, spoke to a class of 8th graders and also a class of 7th graders on her career as a banker.   She was asked to speak about what her day to day job is like, her background, experiences, and education. She also discussed what she liked/disliked about her career and what education choices would prepare a student for a similar career.  The students were attentive and asked lots of questions.  Mrs. Hopkins was very impressed by how responsive and open minded they were.
