Each year, Platte Valley Bank’s outreach committee votes on several community activities to support. This year, one of their activates included sponsoring a meal for the Ronald McDonald House.
At Ronald McDonald Houses across the county, their mission is to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families by providing a "home away from home" while the children are receiving medical care in Kansas City-area hospitals.
On any given night, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City serves 67 families. Last year, their
Houses and
Family Room provided lodging to more than 4,000 families as well as opened their doors to support nearly 64,000 visits from family and friends of in-patients at Children's Mercy Hospital.
Yesterday, Platte Valley Banks’s outreach committee members went to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Kansas City, MO. They supplied boxed lunches to all the family members and friends staying at the two Ronald McDonald homes. Price Chopper supplied the boxes and Platte Valley Bank provided all the contents. The donated 18 boxed lunches to the Ronald McDonald House on Cherry Street and 32 to the Ronald McDonald House in Longfellow Park.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are suffering due to childhood illness.
