North Oak: Meet Steve Hayward, Loan Officer

Hello, I am Stephen Hayward. I am excited to join the North Oak location as the Senior Lending Officer. I have been in the banking industry for over 25 years and started my career as a Certified Public Account (CPA) with KPMG Peat Marwick, where I concentrated on banking clients for the firm. Eventually,  I went to work for one of my clients, a savings and loan institution, as their Internal Auditor and Compliance Officer. I was eventually promoted to Director of Lending for the organization. My experiences as a lender encompass all types of real estate transactions from consumer home loans, construction rehab, vacant land, builder financing, and commercial financing. I truly enjoy helping clients through the financing process and being a resource to help them navigate effectively through the lending process ending with a successful result. I love the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.”  It depicts the difference a Community Lender and its associates make in the lives of their customers and the relationship that is established between them. My hope is that our North Oak Branch will be a focal point in the community we serve with a strong connection that binds us together.
