Grandma's Dinner Rolls

November 21, 2013

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, here is a delicious recipe from our Duck and Run Cookbook on page. 117.

Grandma's Dinner Rolls

Ingredients:
1 pkg. yeast
2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
5 1/2 to 6 c. flour

Instructions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Scald milk; pour over butter, salt, and sugar. Stir and cool until lukewarm. Add 4 cups flour; beat well. Add eggs and dissolved yeast. Blend in remaining flour; keep in warm place. When dough rises, mix it again. Chill dough.

Roll on floured surface; cut with biscuit cutter. Dip top of rolls in butter. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Let rise in warm place until doubled in size. Bake at about 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.

Makes about 3 dozen rolls. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy!
