On Saturday, October 18th, Platte Valley Bank’s Dollar Bill and Platte Country School District’s Pirate joined in the fun at the Kansas City JDRF One Walk. Formerly, the Walk to Cure Diabetes, The Kansas City Chapter was chosen to be a pilot for the new JDRF One Walk for 2014. The name was changed to communicate their focus on a single goal: creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure. So far, this year, the JDRF One Walk in Kansas City has raised $486,959.42 toward a cure. Special thanks to the Platte County Interact Club and Platte Valley Bank employees for helping raise funds to make Type One, Type None!
