Add to calendarLafayette County's Linwood Lawn Mansion is reputed to be the first home west of the Mississippi River that originally possessed indoor plumbing, central air, hot and cold running tap water in each bedroom/bathroom, many featuring sterling silver gas fixtures through which the water flows into the marble sinks, and a bell paging and voice tube intercom system that would alert slaves and servants located in the kitchen and the basement.
This "Jewel of Little Dixie" is our destination for Holiday Splendor, music, a home tour, and a scrumptious luncheone in the opulence of the dining parlour.
This day tour also includes shopping in Historic Downtown Lexington in four exclusive local specialty stores (with a special discount for our group) in the historic riverfront community and an interpretive tour with a costumed historian at the Battle of Lexington National Historic Site.
